If western pizza and good ice cream are what you're craving, come to Fire and Ice. Located in Thamel, Fire and Ice has the best pizza in Kathmandu, although it's a bit more expensive than the average meal.

Still going strong in August 2010. Love the pizza, haven't yet had the icecream. WiFi is available, ask for the password. Just before entering Thamel (or just as you're leaving, depending). This place, though not quiet, offers a visual break with seating behind a stand of potted jungle leafy plants. Clean tables, good service. A few rupees more than Roadhouse, but then you don't have to venture into Thamel proper.
I know they closed down a few weeks ago due to staff problems - anyone know if they're open again?
