A lovely mid-priced/ranged hotel 10 minutes walk from Thamel. Has a lovely garden setting at the back - with pool and restaurant.
The rooms are adequate - all are undergoing renovation at present. Wifi is expensive.
restaurant is pretty good for this type of hotel - and located right on the garden - provides a very peaceful dining experience.
If you are here on business, or even get to know the staff, you get invited the Wednesday evening cocktail session - lovely netowkring above the pool with "horses douvers" and free drinks. The head of Thai airways, amongst others, are long term residents at the hotel - and well worth meeting - they are hilarious and lovely people.
As with all hotels in KTM - check for an online discounter. I could get a rate from www.asiarooms.com (40USD) that even the hotel couldn't match with locals and travel agents.
