Excited about Kathmandu's first skate shop opening in Thamel which is near our home.  The idea of handcrafted and personalized skateboards is a great one and one that I think will do very well.  Ktm has a lot of skilled woodworkers and what a great way to bring our age old skills into a modern and young global audience.  Enough of the carved wooden windows already, lets get some cool skateboards!

The store will also sell streetwear which I'm not sure could take on the hordes of competitors - I'm a Quicksilver fan and Arnico will have a tough battle if they want to take on global established brands.  But maybe they're not trying to and if the quality is good they could do well branding themselves as a high end designer product from Nepal.
